About us
Our Mission

The IT Girls Foundation was created from the experiences of its founders, Wiola and Ada Klimczak. Our mission is to increase the number of women in the IT industry.
We carry out this mission by working not only with women, but also with children and young people. We organize workshops, educational programs and cooperate with companies in the industry, inspiring and educating on the development opportunities in professions related to new technologies and IT. We strive to make everyone able to dream of a career in the technology industry, supporting the development of a passion for technology.
Vision

How do we accomplish our mission?
Our activities aim not only to equip young people, especially girls, with the necessary skills and knowledge, but also to transform the way society thinks about technology as a space for everyone. Together we create a world in which every person, regardless of gender, has an equal chance to realize their dreams and professional aspirations in the fascinating world of new technologies.
Educational meetings
We hold regular meetings with young people in schools, where we present the realities of technical studies and work in IT. Through direct contact with professionals, young people gain inspiration and knowledge about the industry.

Workshops and training
We organize workshops and trainings that break stereotypes in IT. We teach that success in IT is achieved through commitment, creativity and perseverance. We focus especially on encouraging girls to develop technological interests.

Mentoring programs
We organize several-month mentoring programs, aimed at both students and women who want to change their career path to IT. Gain practical knowledge and build a solid foundation for a career in technology as a mentee under the supervision of experienced mentors.

Our History
The year 2025 is the next stage of intensive development of the IT Girls Foundation. It is planned to launch a modern platform for volunteers, which will improve the coordination of activities and enable even more effective implementation of educational programs. We are developing subsequent editions of our social campaigns and programs for women in IT, reaching new recipients and expanding our activities to all of Poland. We are also focusing on a long-term development strategy, which will allow us to support children, youth and women even more effectively on their path to a career in technology.
In 2024, the Foundation continues to develop its activities, expanding its volunteer network to over 180 active people. Our METSy campaign has reached over 4 million people, inspiring conversations about stereotypes and the role of women in technology. The number of participants in our workshops and educational programs has exceeded 89,000, and our activities have been recognized by prestigious institutions - Adrianna Klimczak, co-founder of the Foundation, was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and the Foundation won the Golden KTR award for the METSy campaign. This year, the Foundation also won the title of "Women of the Year Glamour 2024" for both founders.
In 2023, the IT Girls Foundation strengthened its position as a leader in activities for equality in technology. We published the eBook "How to support girls in discovering science", which was downloaded by over 13,500 guardians and teachers from all over Poland. Our mentoring and educational programs have already covered 8 of the largest cities in Poland, and the Foundation's activities have begun to cover the whole of Poland. We have started cooperation with key brands such as Google Cloud, Accenture, Intel, PwC, ING Hubs, BCG Platinion and Netcompany, which allows us to work even more effectively for equality in IT. This year, the Foundation also won the Golden Arrow award for the "Updated Fairy Tales" campaign and the title of Equal Business Leaders 2023 for both founders.
The year 2022 brought dynamic development to the Foundation – our first mentoring program for women in IT was launched, which helped participants gain competences and self-confidence in the technology industry. This year, our flagship project "Updated Fairy Tales" was also created, which reached 50,000 children, changing the narrative of classic fairy tales and inspiring girls to develop their technological passions. The number of volunteers increased significantly, and our workshops began to take place in schools throughout Poland.
In 2021, the IT Girls Foundation was established, with the mission of increasing the participation of women and girls in the technology industry. From the beginning, we focused on organizing programming workshops for children and young people, without creating divisions. In the first months of our activity, we established cooperation with the first partners from the IT sector, which allowed us to expand educational activities and reach an increasing number of recipients.
Values
Inspiration
We believe in the power inspiration as tools for building bold dreams. By organizing meetings with young people, we show what studying technical subjects and working in the IT industry really looks like, inspiring them to boldly pursue professional goals.
Awareness
We educate about the positive and negative aspects of technology, We conduct technology lessons with every age group, starting from 5-6 year olds, ending with students and parents. We want future generations to be conscious opportunities and threats arising from technology.
Equality
We believe that every child, regardless of gender, deserves equal opportunities. Our work focuses on breaking down gender stereotypes and encouraging girls to participate in technology. We strive to create an open and supportive environment for all participants.
Education
Education is a key element of our activities. We strive to provide high-quality education that not only develops technical skills but also builds self-confidence in children. Everyone – regardless of age, appearance or gender – can achieve success in the IT industry.
Inclusiveness
One of our mottos is "inclusive not exclusive". We want to emphasize that we do not exclude boys and men in our activities – we also want to encourage them to pursue careers in the technology industry and they are always welcome at our events and workshops.

Join us, let's educate and inspire together!
Together we can do more, so why not do something together?
Our team
Wioletta Klimczak
Wiola graduated in Computer Science from the Warsaw University of Technology. In the foundation, she is responsible for organizing events and mentoring children. Without her, nothing would happen. Privately, a fan of the holistic approach and meditation, she discovered a passion for traveling. Wiola hosts the podcast "Pewnie z Klimczak", where she discovers self-confidence.
Adrianna Klimczak
Ada graduated in Computer Science from the MiNI Faculty of the Warsaw University of Technology. Together with Wiola, they are the heart of all the foundation's activities. She loves to lead workshops for young girls and give them self-confidence. She deals with cooperation with partners, branding and marketing of the Foundation.
In her free time she loves to do sports, both HIIT and yoga. In the evenings she likes to discover the culinary secrets of Warsaw, whether in a restaurant or in the comfort of her home kitchen.
Klaudia Placzkowska
Klaudia is a pedagogue by education and vocation. She graduated from Pedagogy at the University of Warsaw. Klaudia is the operational heart of the IT Girls Foundation - she makes sure that all our projects run smoothly and with full commitment. She coordinates a team of over 200 volunteers, connecting their activities in different regions of Poland, and also oversees the implementation of the foundation's key initiatives.
In addition to working in the foundation, she is involved in various artistic activities and runs classes for children.
Paweł Węgier
Paweł runs workshops on strengthening self-confidence and achieving inner peace. He started to deal seriously with mental health and mind around 2014, when he took over the first sales and service team at Orange Polska SA. He noticed quite quickly that the moods and mentality of his team directly translate into results.
Why does he work with the foundation? As he says "From the beginning I felt that you support others from the heart and that passion is embedded in your activities. There is sincerity and authenticity in what you do. Such people and such projects are worth supporting." He plays guitar in every free moment. For him, the guitar is not only a passion, but also meditation and a way to express himself.
